Benefex acquires engagement platform Wrkit

Benefex acquires Capita Employee BenefitsEmployee benefits software business Benefex has acquired employee engagement platform Wrkit and its entire product set, which includes employee discounts, wellbeing, recognition and communication tools.

The platform’s teams in Ireland, the UK and Australia, which consists of 35 members of staff, will join Benefex as part the acquisition.

Wrkit, which has experienced significant growth in the UK and abroad over the last few years, supports more than half a million employees across 300 organisations.

It says the pandemic has further driven demand from employers focused on helping their employees’ money go further, looking after their wellbeing and engaging them in a more remote working environment.

Benefex founder and chief executive Matt Macri-Waller said he had seen the passion and customer focus of staff at Wrkit over the past few years of working in partnership with the firm, and that bringing the entire team and product into the business further supports its mission to help every employee have an “exceptional experience”.

He explained that the acquisition reinforces Benefex’s commitment to continue to invest in products and innovations that help customers solve their largest people challenges.

“By adding an employee discount offering, a behavioural-science-led wellbeing platform and new communications tools to the OneHub product suite, we can help every customer solve more of their employee engagement challenges than ever before,” Macri-Waller said.

“Our customers’ roles in their organisations continue to expand and increasing demands are being placed on them each year.”

Peter Jenkinson, founder and chief executive at Wrkit, added that the combined Benefex and Wrkit offering will create the opportunity for new tools and to serve customers with employee discounts as well as wellbeing, fitness and learning products.

“To date, Wrkit and Benefex have developed a market leading partnership. We are now deployed with more than 50 Benefex customers. This is the culmination of an exciting first chapter for the Wrkit team but the start of an even more exciting one with Benefex,” he said.
