Veolia, Aldermore and Vitality named on Sunday Times Best Places to Work list 2024

Veolia Aldermore and VitalityResource management service Veolia, banking organisation Aldermore and health insurance firm Vitality have made the top 10 Sunday Times Best Places to Work list for 2024.

To compile the list, the publication used 26 questions from WorkL’s employee engagement survey to find out what workers at very big, big, medium and small organisations think about their workplace. To achieve a high overall engagement score, an organisation must score well across a six-step framework, which includes reward and recognition, instilling pride, information sharing, empowerment, wellbeing and job satisfaction.

Veolia achieved an excellent rating for job satisfaction, empowerment and instilling pride at work, recognising the success of its extensive programmes developed to address employee experience, purpose, inclusion, diversity, and wellbeing.

Meanwhile, Vitality achieved high scores on empowerment, job satisfaction, and instilling pride, with 85% of employees stating they are proud to work there, 82% believing they do something worthwhile, and 87% feeling their employer cares about diversity and inclusion and does what it can to promote it.

The top 10 very big organisations, with more than 2,000 employees, included:
