Median basic pay to rise to 2.5%

The median basic pay increase is predicted to rise to 2.5% in January, an increase against the 2021 quarter four figure of 2%, according to the latest data from XpertHR. Across the whole economy in 2021, the median basic pay award stood at 1.8%, which is just below the 2% recorded for 2020. An analysis of 130 basic pay awards in the public sector in 2021 found a median 1.4% increase was made across the year, with the middle half of settlements between 1% and 2.2%.
