S-RM names new equality, diversity and inclusion lead

Global intelligence and cyber security consultancy S-RM has appointment of Maria Petnga-Wallace (pictured) as equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) lead.

Petnga-Wallace will further develop and implement EDI policies, procedures and guidelines to challenge the executive committee to put equality, diversity and inclusion at the forefront of its agenda.

Petnga-Wallace has more than 15 years of experience of leading EDI within the corporate sector and has previously worked at global AdTech business Dentsu, law firm Hogan Lovells and the Financial Ombudsman Service.

She is in her second year of a professional doctorate in evidence-based human resource management at Birkbeck College, specialising in transforming workplaces with cultural competency and intelligence.

Petnga-Wallace said: “S-RM’s commitment to embedding EDI was obvious to me from the outset, from the very visible way the business values respect, the importance it places on its clients and its team, as well as its commitment to learning. This culture is led from the top: Heyrick has a bold outlook and has committed to challenging both himself and the organisation.

“From day one colleagues both in the UK and our global offices have been incredibly welcoming and generous in their offers to be involved with our EDI work. This recognition that EDI is about community and not just individuals makes my work a lot more exciting.”

Heyrick Bond Gunning, chief executive officer of S-RM, added: “Maria brings with her a wealth of experience that everyone at S-RM will benefit from greatly and we are thrilled to welcome her to the team.

“A lot of businesses will tell you that equality, diversity and inclusion are at the heart of everything they do, but we’re committed to going beyond just talk. We want to deliver real and measurable results, and we know that Maria’s appointment will be crucial in driving this forward.”
