Listening to the right music can set the tone for your day, and even improve your mental health. A survey by audio brand company Sound United found that listening to music improves productivity and well-being, and academic research has shown that listening to music releases dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin, feel-good brain chemicals that improve mood and help people feel more connected to each other

At TouchTunes, the company's 2022 data revealed that there's no one-size-fits-all when it comes to the tracks that get listeners amped up. Forty percent picked rock music as their go-to genre, while 22% listened to country tunes, and 13% queued up rap and hip hop. Country artists like Morgan Wallen and Chris Stapleton dominated their top 10 most played artist list, though classic rock mainstays AC/DC, the Rolling Stones and Fleetwood Mac were also popular picks.

"Fat Bottomed Girls" by Queen was the most played rock song on TouchTunes in 2022, followed by Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl." If you need that extra boost of inspiration, "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey was their third most-played song. For more feel-good jams, Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" was the most popular pop song played on the TouchTunes jukebox in 2022.

Just 1% of listeners turned to the blues to get them through the day, which may just prove that the right song can get you in the right frame of mind to blast through that to-do list — and feel good while doing it.
