We’re Making It More Convenient than Ever to Get Vaccines

Effective Jan. 1, 2023, seasonal and non-seasonal vaccines* received through the CVS Caremark retail pharmacy network will be paid in full at the pharmacy counter by the member’s employer-sponsored health benefits plan. The CVS Caremark retail pharmacy network includes more than 68,000 participating pharmacies nationwide, including independent pharmacies, chain pharmacies, and 9,600 CVS Pharmacy locations.

What does this mean for members?

When members and their covered dependents get the vaccines they need, there won’t be any costs at the pharmacy and they won’t need to submit paperwork for reimbursement.

On Jan. 6, 2023, covered employees will receive this email regarding an update to vaccine coverage.

Eligible vaccinations received at their doctor’s office, an urgent care clinic or a MinuteClinic® will continue to be covered by their medical plan with no upfront costs.

Have questions or want to learn more?

Members are encouraged to contact their local CVS Caremark retail pharmacy network location for a complete list of available vaccinations and for information on how to make an appointment. A list of participating pharmacies is available by registering and logging in at caremark.com. Members can learn more about the program at CVS.com/immunizations/get-vaccinated.

*Applies to vaccines commonly recommended by U.S. health organizations. Travel vaccines excluded. COVID vaccines are provided at no cost.

This convenience is extended to all employer-sponsored, self-funded health benefit plans administered by Star Marketing and Administration, Inc., except for the standard preventive-only plan design.
