Accenture accredited as menopause-friendly employer

AccentureProfessional services firm Accenture has received menopause-friendly employer accreditation due to its provision of support for perimenopause and menopause.

Established by Henpicked: Menopause In The Workplace, the accreditation recognises high standards and proven practices that embrace menopause in the workplace. Employers are assessed on evidence of their effectiveness in culture, policies and practices, training, engagement, facilities and evaluation.

Accenture received accreditation due to its range of initiatives that support hormonal health, while also contributing to an open and supportive culture. These include health and wellbeing benefits such as a digital healthcare app that helps support individuals with fertility, early parenthood and the menopause, access to menopause experts with support via chat, programmes, events, and virtual consultations through Peppy, ergonomic chairs or desk fans for home workers that can be requested via a health assessment programme, and an increase in the number of wellness rooms in offices so everyone has access to a safe space.

The firm also established a MenoWarriors ally community that has more than 300 members to create a supportive and safe environment for women and men struggling with menopause-related challenges, regular support sessions and community events with specialist speakers, and education and training to raise awareness of the menopause, including education on symptoms and where to go for relevant resources.

Jill Ross, managing director at Accenture, who leads its UK menopause community network, said: “Menopause can no longer be taboo at work. We are proud to be a menopause-friendly employer and strive to support women, and all our people, with their hormonal health and create a culture where everyone feels a sense of belonging.

“By having better information and open conversations, organisations can go some way to dispelling myths about the menopause and empower their people. Breaking down barriers on the menopause helps us all to be better leaders and staff and forms part of our journey to becoming one of the most inclusive firms in the world.”
