TLT and Bain & Company named on Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality 2023 list

TLT Bain & CompanyLaw firm TLT, global consultancy Bain & Company and London Stock Exchange Group have been named on The Times Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality for 2023 list.

Established by Business in the Community and The Prince’s Responsible Business Network, organisations that choose to enter are asked to share details of their activity and demonstrable impact around progress towards gender equality at work. This includes their approach to recruitment, highlighting salary details, considering ethnicity pay gaps as well as gender pay gaps, and efforts to support working carers.

The list also looked at what employers are doing to support employees through the cost-of-living crisis.

TLT was recognised due to its fully flexible working approach, a dedicated pregnancy loss policy, competitive paternity and non-birthing parent leave provision, a consecutive reduction in its median gender pay gap and achieving its target of 33% female representation at partner level two years early.

Meanwhile, Bain & Company made the list due to its offering of equal paid parental leave to all employees regardless of role and gender, and providing up to 52 weeks of leave, with the first 29 weeks fully paid.

Charlotte Woodworth, gender equality director at Business in the Community, said: “The employers in The Times Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality for 2023 are leading the way towards gender equality in the workplace, showing true commitment to driving fairer and more inclusive work environments for all employees. We’ve seen the tide change in recent years in how many employers are embracing innovative ways of working such as flexible working, and more equitable policies such as equal parental leave.”

Helen Hodgkinson, chief people officer at TLT, added: “It is an honour to be named in The Times’ prestigious Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality 2023. TLT has come a long way in recent years in redressing gender imbalances and I’m proud to have these efforts recognised on a national platform.”

James Hadley, Bain & Company’s UK managing partner, said: “We are hugely pleased to be recognised, and for a third consecutive year. For Bain, effective steps to tackle and reduce gender inequality are of vital importance for our business and we continue to devote our energy and attention to taking truly consequential action to address every aspect of this.”
