Roadchef rolls out payroll and financial support for UK employees

Roadside service area operator Roadchef has rolled out payroll and financial support for its 3,500 UK employees as part of its commitment to the financial wellbeing of its workforce.

Through a partnership with cloud-based payroll software service PayCaptain, Roadchef employees can access savings pots, digital payroll giving, pay trackers, built-in financial wellbeing tools to budget and plan money, interactive pay slips, 24/7 faster payments, 24/7/365 chatbots, banking features and access to accrued earnings in emergencies.

It also offers flexible payments, which allow Roadchef employees to choose exactly where, when and how they receive bonuses, rewards and expenses. They can choose to receive their payment instantly, send it to their savings account, or put it straight into their pension pot.

The app additionally features an interactive confidential questionnaire to evaluate how employees feel about their finances. It then generates a personalised financial wellbeing score and recommends steps to help improve financial health.

According to Roadchef, it selected PayCaptain for its employees because of the unique employee benefits built into its payroll software. The employer also wanted a modern alternative to its legacy payroll system.

Roadchef also offers its employees £1 meals while on duty, up to 70% discount for staff, family and friends at all Roadchef sites, a cash bonus for every friend referred, discounts on high street and online stores via the Hapi app, free onsite parking, contributory pension after three months, access to occupational health support, an employee assistance programme, mental health first aiders and development opportunities.
