The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has recruited Uzair Qadeer (pictured) as its new chief people officer as of the end of February.
Qadeer will sit on the BBC executive committee, the operations committee, and be a key advisor to the board remuneration committee. He was recruited to oversee all global human resources capabilities across the BBC Group, and drive employee experience, cultural transformation, and organisational change.
Qadeer will report to chief operating officer Leigh Tavaziva, and will be responsible for shaping the organisation’s people strategy in line with its 10-point diversity and inclusion plan. He will also oversee Children in Need.
Qadeer joined from US healthcare provider Carbon Health, where he was chief people officer. Prior to this, he was the first chief diversity officer at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, where he was a member of its executive committee.
