Sainsbury’s increases pay for hourly paid staff

From March 2024, 120,000 hourly paid staff will benefit from the rise, with those based in London seeing an increase to £13.15 per hour. For a full-time worker, this amounts to an extra £1,910 a year nationally and £2,290 a year in London, and is above the government’s £11.44 national living wage for 2024.

UPS was recently sued by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, which resulted in a $150000 settlement although the EEOC commended UPS for “working collaboratively with the EEOC to resolve the remaining issues in this lawsuit.” The case took place as a result of a UPS discrimination lawsuit that was filed by a former employee in Jacksonville, Florida, who was denied breaks by the UPS HR department despite it being a necessary accommodation for their diabetes condition.
