Rating Bureau to File for 0.3% Workers’ Comp Rate Hike

In a sign of the long-lasting effects of reforms enacted a decade ago, California’s workers’ compensation rate-making agency will recommend that average benchmark rates increase a mere 0.3%. The recommendation by the Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau, based on claims costs and frequency remaining low and slower cost inflation, would apply to policies incepting on or after Sept. 1, 2023.

Travel business Thomas Cook has completed a £900 million bulk purchase annuity buy-in transaction for its UK pension scheme. Aviva insured the defined benefit (DB) pension liabilities for more than 12,500 scheme members following the liquidation of the business in 2019. South England ambulance staff strike in pay row
