Can AI assist HR with people related issues?

Who can help HR with employee mental health and wellbeing. 2 in every 5 employees experiencing anxiety, stress and depression related to work. How can businesses address this issue? This week Chris talks with Charlie Winton, Founder of OK Positive. Listen to discover how Charlie’s mental health journey led to him creating OK Positive. OK Positive has an early warning system that helps managers identify mental health issues in the workplace. It can be used to proactively address issues before they become crises by offering employees a direct feedback channel.

Is there too much focus on recruitment? Should companies instead focus on retaining their current workforce by ensuring they are looked after in terms of wellbeing and mental health. AI can be used to fast track this progress by providing timely and relevant resources. A built-in system prevents employee assisted programs traditional low engagement.

Pre-emptive intervention in the long run can beneficial but businesses tend work in reactive way and focus on sickness and absence. Organisations need to start looking at what they can gain from happy and productive employees rather than how much money was lost due to absent employees because of poor mental health.

Businesses should avoid their wellbeing strategy just being a tick box exercise as employees will be less likely to engage with it and not benefit from its long term. Charlie provides some example of businesses getting this right and some who’ve got this wrong and what organisations can learn from them. .
