88% experiencing more symptoms of burnout

Almost nine in 10 (88%) Britons are experiencing more burnout symptoms than usual, according to research by Cigna Healthcare. Its 2023 Vitality study , which surveyed 10,800 respondents in the US, UK, Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Kenya, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, China, Singapore, and the Hong Kong SAR, also found that half (49%) of respondents cited the ongoing cost-of-living crisis as the largest cause of stress, followed by personal finance (38%).

4.4 million employees are covered by corporate health insurance

More than four million people are now covered by health insurance through their employer, according to data from the Association of British Insurers (ABI). The number of employees benefitting from health insurance increased by 8% from four million in 2021 to 4.4 million in 2022. Meanwhile, workplace policies also saw a 15% increase in claims, with one million made in 2022 compared to 873,000 in 2021.
