Spring Budget 2023: The government has introduced 30 hours of free childcare for parents with children under the age of three, according to Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt’s statement to the House of Commons today (15 March 2023). Only applicable to households where parents are working more than 16 hours a week, the provision will be during term time and last 38 weeks of the year, estimated to reduce childcare costs by around 60%.

Spring Budget 2023: Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt has introduced a government white paper on disability workplace reform, as part of an aim to address the two million people who are economically inactive due to disability or long-term sickness. In his Spring Budget statement today (15 March 2023), Hunt noted that the number of disabled people in work had risen by two million since 2013.

Spring Budget 2023: Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt announced in his Budget statement today (15 March 2023) that government will abolish the lifetime allowance for pensions. Spring Budget 2023: The government has frozen fuel duty for another 12 months, according to Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt’s speech to the House of Commons today (15 March 2023). Hunt told the Commons that he would extend the 5p per litre cut in duty on petrol and diesel and freeze any further increases for the next year, to save the average driver £100 over the next year, and around £200 in total since the cut was introduced.
